Motorcyclist Killed in Collision in Santa Cruz

 
SANTA CRUZ, CA (April 23, 2018) – A motorcycle rider was killed after being involved in a head-on collision that occurred on Empire Grade Road near Smith Grade Road on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in Santa Cruz.
 
According to police, the motorcyclist was traveling on Empire Grade Road along with a group of other motorcyclists. It was reported that for unexplained reasons the motorcyclist then veered into the oncoming lanes and collided with a Dodge Durango.
 
Moments before the collision occurred, the Durango attempted to avoid the motorcycle rider but was not successful.
 
Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The driver was not injured in the collision.
 
As a result of the collision, police closed down Empire Grade Road for several hours.
 
Authorities are investigating the fatal motorcycle accident.

LOMPOC, CA (April 23, 2018) – A 35-year-old man was killed and three people were injured after being involved in a two-car collision on Highway 246 near Highway 1 on Friday morning at 5:50 a.m. in Lompoc.
 
According to police, the man was driving a stolen 1999 Honda Civic while traveling northbound on Highway 1. It was reported that for unexplained reasons, the driver veered into the oncoming lanes before colliding with a 2004 Ford Taurus head-on driven by a 33-year-old man of Lompoc.
 
The impact caused the Taurus to drive about 50 feet off the road before overturning.
 
Paramedics rushed to the scene of the collision and pronounced the man driving the Honda dead at the scene. While the driver of the Taurus and the 35-year-old and 65-year-old passengers of Lompoc were all transported to Lompoc Valley Medical Center for treatment.
 
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fatal collision and suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.

Paramedics rushed to the scene of the collision and transported the woman to the hospital for treatment of her major injuries. She was pronounced dead after succumbing to her injuries.
 
While the driver and two other passengers were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

OXNARD, CA (April 23, 2018) – Five teenagers were injured after being involved in a two-car collision that occurred on Harbor Boulevard near Costa De Oro on Saturday evening at 5:45 p.m. in Oxnard.
 
According to police, a 17-year-old teenager was driving a silver Dodge Charger along with a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old teenagers of Oxnard and Ventura, who were sitting in the trunk of the car, with an additional passenger. The Charger was traveling on Harbor Boulevard and approached the intersection of Costa De Oro. It was reported the Charger drove through the intersection before colliding with a southbound Nissan Sentra.
 
The impact then caused the Charger to spin out and ejected the two teenagers from the trunk.
 
Paramedics rushed to the scene of the collision and transported the two teenage girls to the hospital for treatment of their serious injuries. While the third passenger and the driver of the Charger were also transported to the hospital for treatment of their minor injuries.
 
The driver of the Sentra was not injured in the collision.
 
Authorities are investigating the collision and reported the teenagers were riding in the trunk due to limited space in the Charger.

Officers then arrived at the scene and discovered the group of people soon got into an altercation with the driver of a car.
 
For unexplained reasons the driver then started his car and drove into the group of five pedestrians.
 
Paramedics were requested to the scene and tended to the injured pedestrians in the collision who all sustained injuries.

According to police, a driver was possibly fleeing the scene of an accident before plowing head-on into another car while traveling northbound on Sanderson Avenue. It was reported before the head-on collision occurred the sedan was seen swerving across the road several times. Shortly after, the car then crashed into the center median on the road.
 
After the collision, the driver kept on driving before crashing head-on with a small Toyota near Gilman Springs.
 
Emergency responders then rushed to the scene of the collision and pronounced the driver dead at the scene. While the other driver in the collision sustained major injuries before being transported to Riverside University Health System for treatment.
 
As a result of the collision, police closed down Sanderson Avenue in both directions.

It was reported that a Buick Regal was traveling northbound on Silverado Drive when it drove onto James Donlon Bouelvard. The collision occurred when the Buick then collided with an eastbound Ford F-150 pickup truck that was approaching the intersection.
 
The impact then caused the Buick to then crash into a third vehicle before trapping the elderly man inside of his car.
 
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and tended to those injured in the collision and rescued the elderly man. The man was then transported to the hospital for treatment of his major injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
