Motorcyclist, 53, Seriously Injured in Escondido Hit-and-Run on Washington
ESCONDIDO (February 10, 2019) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after an alleged hit-and-run crash along Washington Avenue Sunday afternoon, according to San Diego Union-Tribune and The Times-Advocate.
The accident took place shortly after 4:45 p.m. near Hickory Street.
As per the reports, police said the incident began when a 53-year-old San Diego man was riding a motorcycle west going at or below the posted speed limit.
At the same time, an SUV was making a left turn from a private driveway at 412 East Washington Avenue. The rider then collided with the vehicle and was ejected from his bike upon impact.

Paramedics responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist left suffering from significant lower extremity fractures following the collision.
The victim was then immediately taken to Palomar Medical Center where he reportedly underwent surgery. His name and condition remained unknown.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop after the wreck and fled the scene without rendering aid to the man.
The suspect car was described as a dark green Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar model. It reportedly had black primer paint spots and missing or damaged front-end equipment.
The incident is still under investigation.
