Jonathan Williams, 25, Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash
LOS ANGELES (March 14, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed after an alleged hit-and-run accident in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Coliseum Street Sunday night, according to KTLA.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Jonathan Williams, of Los Angeles.
Police said Williams was crossing the street when he was hit by a vehicle that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The man was thrown 50 feet across the intersection with Coliseum Street. He was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Pedestrian Hit by Car in Los Angeles’ Crenshaw, March 10
The fatal collision occurred on March 10 at approximately 9 p.m. in the Crenshaw neighborhood.
Police affirmed that prior to hitting Williams, the driver was fleeing after colliding with another car
at Rodeo Road and Martin Luther King. In the process, the motorist struck the pedestrian and then took off.
The suspect continued and slammed into a street sign along the way. The car was later located at 9th Avenue and 48th Street, but the driver reportedly tried to run a way.
The hit-and-run motorist was arrested and ultimately taken into custody. The name of the suspect was not immediately disclosed. The investigation is ongoing.
