Cameron Park Man, 28, Victim in DUI Collision

FOLSOM (April 9th, 2019)

Authorities have identified Joshua Lowery, 28, of Cameron Park, as the man fatally injured in a single vehicle DUI crash on Bidwell Street.

Officials responded to notification the collision which occurred just after 2:00 a.m. near Folsom Lake College.

A 21-year-old woman had been behind the wheel of a Subaru Forester accompanied by four passengers including Joshua Lowery. For unknown reasons, the woman allowed the Forester to drift off the road before hitting a light pole. The vehicle overturned leaving all parties trapped inside.

Fire department personnel arrived at the scene to assist in helping the victims be removed from the Subaru.

Per officials, the front seat passenger, Joshua Lowery tragically did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of paramedics.

Meanwhile, the three other passengers all complained of injuries ranging from mild to moderate. Each of the victims were transported via ambulance to local area hospitals.

21-Year-Old Citrus Heights Woman Arrested for DUI

Authorities examined the 21-year-old woman, a resident of Citrus Heights, and determined that she was under the influence and was subsequently arrested.

Bidwell Street remained closed off at College Parkway for nearly six hours while officials perused the scene for evidence.

DUI Crash Investigation

Authorities have arrested and will hold the driver of the Subaru  fully responsible after being confirmed to have been under the influence while operating a vehicle. With liability being determined, the family of Joshua Lowery and the three injured passengerswill be subject to a wrongful death and personal injury claim respectively.
