Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle on 680 Freeway Ramp
SAN JOSE (February 10, 2019) – An unidentified woman was killed in a pedestrian accident Sunday morning in the area of the Interstate 680 Freeway and Highway 101, according to the Mercury News.
Officials said a husband and wife were traveling in their white pickup truck on southbound SR-101 when they took the ramp to northbound I-680. For an unknown reasons, the man lost control and collided with the concrete side wall.
As per the article, the pickup was disabled when the wife exited the car and began walking down the ramp to exit the freeway. The woman was not noticed by a passing white Toyota Camry, and was eventually struck by the car.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in San Jose, February 10
Emergency personnel arrived a short time after 6:45 a.m. and found the woman lying lifeless in the roadway. Paramedics pronounced the female party deceased at the location. Pending notification of next of kin, the name of the fatality remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Camry appeared to be unharmed in the collision. The motorist reportedly stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
